MSME - Development Institute, Muzaffarpur is a field Institute of Office of Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner (MSME), under Ministry of MSME, Government of India. MSME - Development Institute,Muzaffarpur provides assistance for the promotion and Development of Micro, Small and Medium Scale Industries in the state of Bihar (specially North Bihar).

Aim of this Institute is to implement policy guideline of government of India that is coming under Additional Secretary and the Development Commissioner (MSME), New Delhi of MSME-DO, Govt. of India, Ministry of MSME. It is one of the prime organizations of Govt. of India which formulates and monitors monitors the policies and program of Govt. of India for the promotion and development of micro, small and medium scale industries all over the country.
